Bug report: Category Selector bar

Hi Frank,

I'm currently writing a guide for users of the online map and therefore clicking on everything.

I've found that when using the Category Selector bar (TOPMENU) at the top of the page, the Indicator selection box on the top right corner will be disabled, requiring an F5 refresh of the browser screen.

I've tested this with other people's implementations on the web, with both Flash 11 and 13, and with IE, FF, and Chrome; with the same result. As an interim fix I'm setting the value next to TOPMENT to FALSE to hide the bar; however would like to know when the issue is resolved to enable us to unhide it.

Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark,

You are right - I am assuming you are referring to the category selection (not indicator selection) in the top left corner? These two were not intended to work together as they offer the same kind of functionality, which is a means of selecting categories. One can choose to have either the top menu for selecting categories, or the dropdown menu in the indicators panel, but not both at the same time. It should indeed be clarified that they cannot both be activated.

Best,

Frank

Hi Frank,

Thanks for clarifying that. I was indeed referring to the category selection on the top of the page. If I click on it, then I am finding that I can not select the indicators in the indicator panel.

I guess we'll just turn the top menu bar off, as we have a lot of nested indicators, which are more important than the top level categories.

Thanks, Mark

Hi Mark,

If you have sub-categories the category drop-down is indeed more useful. I will look into enabling both though for the next version.

Best,

Frank
